An 18-year-old lady has revealed how she found

herself getting married at the age of 14 years

and became a widow when she was 15 years old.

According to Divine, she was born and brought

up in a remote village. She dropped out of school

in her first year of secondary school after a nman

paid her dowry and asked for her hand in

marriage.

According to her, in that village young girls get

married at a young age to older men old enough

to be their fathers or grandfathers. When her

parents received the dowry, they gave her out to

the man but for her, she was lucky to be married

to a young man.

She immediately got pregnant and after 9

months, she delivered her firstborn. When she

was 15 years her husband was killed by thugs

when he was trying to prevent them from

stealing his cows.

At that time, she was 4 months pregnant. She is

now a mother of two children. A good Samaritan

took her in but it is hard for her to get a job since

she is not educated. She is requesting well-

wishers to help her pay her school fees to be of

help to her children in the future.
