A middle-aged woman reportedly lost her life in Nasarawa State as no doctor was on hand to attend to her, following a five-day warning strike embarked on by the resident doctors at the state government-owned Dalhatu Specialist Hospital in Lafia.


The pregnant woman, whose name was not given when our correspondent visited Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, Lafia (DASH), around 3:30pm on Wednesday, was said to have been booked for a caesarean section yesterday.


But the operation could not hold due to the five-day warning strike.


She died while waiting for doctors to attend to her.


Our correspondent observed that patients with critical conditions were being evacuated to private facilities in the state and nearby states for continuation of medical attention.

 Nigerian man mourns sister-in-law who died from pregnancy  Sadly, Silver’s health also took a turn for the worse and she eventually succumbed to her illness.  A Nigerian man, Anenye Anthony Chinedu, has taken to social media to mourn the tragic passing of his sister-in-law, Sochima Silver Anenye. In a post shared on Facebook, Anenye penned an heartfelt tribute to the deceased who passed away following a severe medical crisis while seven-months pregnant. The deceased, who was only 26-year-old, bravely gave birth to her baby but the joy was short-lived, as the newborn did not survive. Sadly, Silver’s health also took a turn for the worse and she eventually succumbed to her illness. Silver and her husband, Anenye Chukwuka Joseph, got married in January 2023, just nine months before her sad demise.
